Graphic Design Intermediate Short Course

Course description

This course is structured around challenging real-world briefs. After an initial discussion, you will work in small groups on the initial project before finalising your own outcomes.

These are then discussed in a group critique.

There will be further visual exercises, challenging projects, tutorials and group critiques.

The course is designed to push you beyond the basics, this course is also a lot of fun!

Please note that you are welcome to use your own computer if that is how you prefer to work, but digital techniques are not taught within this course.

Course outcomes

By the end of the course, students will:

  • Will feel confident developing their ideas
  • Have grown their critical reflection skills
  • Develop their experimentation
  • Find resolution within real world projects

Who should take this course?

The course is designed for those who have completed an introductory short course and it assumes that you have some familiarity with the creative process.

Verbal discussion of ideas, research and outcomes is a fundamental part of this course, so a good working command of English is recommended.

Entry requirements: It is required that students will already have knowledge of basic graphic design concepts such as composition, colour, typography, layout, and visual identity.

Please note: This course is for students aged 18 and older
